A skydiving video and photo package helps tell the story of your skydive. And that's a story that needs to be told to friends, family, fans, and most importantly, yourself.
Time doesn't move in a linear fashion on the day of your first skydive. The excitement, nervousness, and neurochemicals all alter how your brain processes information including time and memory.
At some points during your first jump, you may be a little overloaded by the speed, stunning ocean and beach views, floating sensations, and your physiological reactions to the experience. These incredible sensory inputs inevitably blur some moments of memory of your first skydive experience. A tandem skydive pictures and video package will display your whole experience to your friends while revealing feelings, vibes and sensations that you personally might have overlooked.
Skydive video and pictures tell an immersive story that lets you decide how that moment will be remembered. Maybe there's a candid moment on the airplane with your friend that you forgot, or maybe a surge of adrenaline causes so much excitement you miss a moment of the incredible ocean views.
And of course, reliving your experience through someone else's point of view provides a completely difference perspective on the whole experience.
Skydive Monterey is California's closest skydiving center to the beach so your video and pictures have the iconic Monterey Bay, towering dunes, Santa Cruz and Pebble Beach as a backdrop for your skydive video and pictures.
Skydive Monterey Bay use a storyboard that tells the story of your skydive adventure
by including fun and casual pre and post jump interviews, vibe and atmosphere shots,
and of course, your actual skydive. This is all arranged chronologically in post-production
with transitions, music and special effects by our editing team.
In addition to doing the world's highest tandem skydive, your jump will be set on the backdrop of the iconic Monterey Bay. The Monterey area is consistently rated as one of the most beautiful places in California. Your skydive pictures and video will feature award winning scenery from a perspective only a handful of people have experienced.
Skydive Monterey Bay has the best skydive beach views in California. We jump closer to the beach than any other skydive center in California. And we're the only operation that jumps over Monterey. You'll see the gorgeous Monterey Bay, it's beaches and the Santa Cruz coastline, the Santa Lucia mountain range, the mountain ranges of Big Sur, Pebble Beach and city of Monterey.
Skydiving over Monterey Bay delivers stunning visuals and an epic backdrop for incredible skydiving video and pictures. It truly is the best California skydive video for first time skydivers.
There is no substitute for experiencing a skydive. Listening to skydiver’s stories, watching it on a screen or even in real life, or even trying indoor skydiving holds no comparative value. Skydiving is the only way you’ll feel the thrill, sensations, excitement, induce the release of blissful neurochemicals, see the world like only a handful of people, and undergo a personal transformation.
All that being said, one of the coolest things about getting a tandem skydive pictures and video package is you’ll get to live your experience through someone else’s (your videographer’s) perspective. You’ll get to see all of your reactions, the rollercoaster of emotions you underwent and the pure joy you just experienced like watching it in a mirror.
While everyone shows up to the skydiving center for a different reason almost everyone arrives with a little nervousness and trepidation. That’s pretty common considering most of the information you’ve acquired about skydiving from friends, the internet or the media, are mostly myths and incorrect facts.
Watching your first skydiving video can remind you that you are able to tackle big adventures and overcome fears. That’s pretty damn empowering and inspiration. It’s your own little reminder that you are a badass!
Many other skydiving centers have transitioned to simple point and shoot photography cameras and automated video editing for efficiency. However, Skydive Monterey Bay continues to produce customized, manually edited tandem skydive videos, and utilizes fully manual DSLR cameras for skydiving photography.
We have an editing team that manually goes through your footage to ensure any unique moment is included, applying the perfect trim to each clip and transition, and seamlessly adding any custom or unique shots independent of the standard storyboard that templated software doesn’t have the capability to do. This results in a much more customized final product for you.
We attempt to align with current and popular technology and social media platforms to provide a product that is easy to use and share in the most popular formats and specifications. In other words, we continue to evolve to provide you with tandem skydive pictures and video that are in the trending format for popular social media sites.
In an extreme environment where we can’t just hit pause and troubleshoot cameras, video or picture malfunctions occasionally happen. We do everything possible to eliminate camera malfunctions including using up to date cameras (we set minimum video equipment standards), and also requiring our videographers to run back up cameras. If there is an issue, chances are we have the secondary camera and won’t have missed a frame!
Some skydive centers have moved to mostly “inside” videography where the Tandem Instructor wears the GoPro camera on his/her hand, much like a close-up “selfie”. This is great as a complimentary angle but by itself does not provide any variety or perspective to properly tell your story, and in our location, limits display of the incredible ocean and mountain scenery.
We offer the “outside video” or dedicated third person videographer option that provides a wider perspective, as well as dual packages providing both the inside (close up, selfie style with parachute shots) and outside (wider angle, better scenery shots and more movement during freefall).
Maybe the simplest reasons to get a skydive video package is that they are a lot of fun to watch. There’s always a magical moment, incredible view, or funny expression that you might not remember or noticed during such an intense experience. It’s even more fun to be able to relive those moments with your friends and family.
Your phone is about to blow up once you post your skydiving video and pictures! It’s our experience that skydiving pictures and video tend to get the highest levels of engagement with friends, family and fans on social media platforms.
Every influencer needs some adventure video and pictures!
Skydive Monterey Bay offers a variety of video and/or photo packages providing different angles and perspectives. Packages start at $109/person.

The overwhelming response from all of the people that jump is: “yes it most certainly is worth the price”.
Whether it’s it for social media stardom, to remind yourself that you can overcome any challenge, to get those goosebumps again, or many of the other reasons to get a skydive video. Almost everyone is stoked that they got a skydive photo and video package.
Each member of the group would need to get their own skydive video and pictures package. Each tandem skydive pair must exit the aircraft with adequate vertical and horizontal separation to ensure safe freefall and parachute deployment. Safety is the number one priority.
Even though that separation might only be six or seven seconds, it’s enough that you will not see the previous or subsequent tandem pair. They most certainly will not be visible with our wide-angle cameras. Therefore, the videographer (whether that’s a dedicated third person skydiver or your tandem instructor) would not be able to capture any freefall or parachute flight of any other person in the group other than the one he/she jumps with.
If several people in your group do purchase video or photo packages, we always try to get some group shots on the ground and in the airplane.
Tandem skydive students, solo skydive students and novice licensed skydivers are not allowed to skydive with cameras. Only trained, licensed skydivers that are endorsed for camera flying are allowed to take camera equipment on a skydive.
The United States Parachuting Association (USPA), the governing body for skydiving in the United States mandates that skydivers wearing and using camera equipment must possess at least 200 skydives, a “B” License”, and the appropriate skill to fly a camera.
For tandem skydive students wanting to capture their skydive experience, we have a variety of awesome skydive photos and video packages available.
Handcam or inside video is a skydiving term that refers to the type of skydive video and/or photos that are shot by the tandem instructor using a hand or wrist mounted camera (or set of cameras). This style of shot could also be described as selfie-style.
Handcam, inside or selfie style skydive video and photos provide a closer perspective than a third-person videographer shooting outside video. While it does not show the full perspective of the scenery to the extent of an outside video, handcam or inside video allows capture of parachute flight.
Skydive Monterey Bay offers skydiving video and photo packages with handcam/inside, outside video, and both combined.
Outside video is a skydiving term that refers to a dedicated, third-person skydiver that records a tandem skydiving pair. As that skydiver is an experience flyer and not attached, the outside flyer can change perspectives in terms of proximity and vertical levels. It showcases a much more three dimensional skydive.
Skydive Monterey Bay offers skydive video and picture packages with handcam/inside, outside video, and both combined.
All camera equipment is subject to malfunction or glitching from time to time. Once our skydiving video team exits the airplane, there is nothing we can do to fix a camera glitch or error until we are back on the ground safely.
To minimize the possibility of a camera malfunction our team shoots with multiple cameras, and uses high end video and camera equipment. However, it can still happen. In the event of a camera malfunction during your skydive video and/or photos, we will refund the money of your package.
In the unlikely event of a camera malfunction, we will refund you the cost of your skydive video and/or pictures package.
The skydive itself is a separate service. We will not refund you the price of the skydive if you had a video or picture malfunction.
To get the best video and pictures during your skydive, we recommend that people interact with the camera during the jump, wear bright clothes or costumes, keep their head up while looking out at the ocean, smile and try to relax.
